We’re revolutionizing human connection through a new precedent by making community accessible. And yes, we know we just brought big energy with that statement! Here’s why:
We’re not a networking group or social club! At Free To Be, we create safe, welcoming spaces where Black women of all backgrounds can show up as their authentic selves—free from societal labels. Our focus isn’t on superficial interactions and social laddering but on forming genuine, mutually supportive, and intentional connections. We come together to create a system of support, where we can share the journey, knowing we don’t have to navigate “this” alone.
When we say Free To Be is for Black women from all backgrounds, we stand on business. We always put intention behind the events we host and keep our events free or low-cost so that anyone interested has the means to attend without being burdened by related expenses.
There are no social follower counts, income thresholds, status markers, or age limits (beyond being over the age of 18) to engage with our community. Currently, our age demographic ranges anywhere from 20 to 46. However, we strongly encourage Black women of all ages to connect with us, as we are age inclusive and value having a diverse age group! Everyone has a seat at our table.

Absolutely, you belong here! In fact, our founder, Tsahai, who describes herself as “awkward and introverted,” created Free To Be with you in mind.
Our events are designed to welcome people from all social backgrounds, including those with social anxiety. We curate supportive social environments where you can show up as yourself, and we’ve put systems in place to help you ease into interactions at your own pace. You’ll be surrounded by understanding people who are there to connect and support you every step of the way without judgment.
At Free To Be, we reject the societal pressure for Black women to conform to certain expectations. There’s no requirement to be talkative, outgoing, or extroverted—just be yourself, however that looks.
-
By engaging with Free To Be Collective, you’ll become part of a community of like-minded Black women who are intentionally seeking connection and building meaningful relationships that extend beyond our curated events. In this space, you’ll be truly seen, appreciated, and accepted for who you are.
While we always make time for fun, our community is also equipped to offer support when you need it the most. Whether it's for advice, emotional support, or simply sharing in each other's journeys, you're never alone.

Of course we can! We are happy to partner with businesses that support our collective. We love to work with local businesses, but we don’t believe opportunities should be limited by locality.
We’re happy to speak with potential partners or sponsors, no matter where you are based.
